Alexandrite laser (755 nm) Alexandrite laser is a high power laser developed to effectively perform permanent hair reduction. Due to its high melanin absorption, the wavelength of 755 nm is the most

suitable for hair reduction, especially for skin types up to Fitzpatrick IV. The high energy together with a large treatment area and high pulse rate enables the removal of hair follicles everywhere

on the body.

Nd: Yag laser (1064nm) Nd: Yag laser has a high absorption capacity in hemoglobin for effective treatments on vessels in the face and on the body.

Hair removal

The different growth phases of the hair shaft:

Anagen phase (active plant phase)

About 15-20% of the hairs are in this phase.

Catagen phase (transition phase)

The hair stops growing, the hair follicle lets go of the hair and becomes inactive and begins to shrink. About 3-4% of the hairs are in this phase which lasts for 1-2 weeks.

Telogen phase (rest phase)

Here the hair rests and at the end of this phase hair strands loose and a new one begins to grow. The remaining hairs are in this phase which lasts for 5-6 weeks.

How Does Hair Removal Work?

The pigment in the hair shaft absorbs the energy and the heat destroys the protein around the hair follicle so that no new hair can grow out. It is only in the anagenic growth phase that the hair has contact with the hair follicle and can be destroyed. Research indicates that a growing hair that has been destroyed by high energy does not grow back. Hair systems, on the other hand, can be activated due to hormonal influences such as menopause. This is then about NEW hairs.

What happens to the hairs after treatment?

About three weeks after treatment, the hairs from the damaged hair follicles begin to fall off.

How many treatments are required?

Since all hair in the treated area is not in the active growth phase, it is usually

expect that 4-8 treatments are required. The treatments are usually done at intervals of about 6-8 weeks so that dormant hairs that have not been damaged during treatment have time to grow out. This is of course individual and depends on the treatment area and how fast hair growth you have.

TO THINK OF

Avoid sunbathing about 1 month before and after treatment, avoid activities that increase blood circulation 24 hours after treatment. Do not wax or pick the area between treatments.
